How is the Iloilo music scene?

sakon lang ya cguro.. like subong. ginaputdown mga emos kay uso sila. kung magmature na sila ang mga bata subong. ara nana nakatatak sila nga wala man sila nabuligan sang mga established bands gane sang mga bata pa sila. like sang una samon. rap-metal generation. ginasuyaan man perme sang mga tigulang kay uso. kay indi parehas sa ila tukar. so we grew up with distrust sa mga older bands from different genres. cguro ara nana samon nga wala man kamu binulig samon when were starting-out, the opposite pa gane ginaubra nyo. now you expect us to help, or let alone trust you. akon cguro, I'm not referring to the band nga may 2 albums ha, kag I have a feeling migo ko man na cguro nga band di lang ko sure. Biskan mag-5 pa kamu ka albums, kag wala man kamu binuligan nga mga tawu along the way. indi kagid cguro kaexpect that much support sa mga tawu.

kag tuod. big deal na if gastart-out plang kamu kag buligan kamu. up until now. biskan indi man bi sila successful para sa iban nga mga tawu. people from bands who helped us sang una like Beggars Description, Skeefer7, Folk Low Hand.. Believe man kmi gyapon sila. Thats why if people from bands like these may mga racket man nga iban (gigs, other bands, negosyo..). Indi budlay samon maghatag support. The same is even true with this forum. Kay I still remember that some of the people behind diri were good to us man sang una.

robot has a point pero if we just continue to sit down and not act wala man siguro matabo hehehe... let's forget nalang ang mga bad stuff na natabo sa aton sang una from those other older bands who diss us. cguro partly hisa man lang na kay ang ginatukar nila indi na amo na ka "in" sa subong na genre. in our case we just didn't care and played what we wanted to play. you can't please man everybody so F&^k them all if they diss you. hehehe

if we want change we should let go of those things nga naga hinder sa aton mag unite. sa mga new bands man dayon indi na kamo maghuya-huya. approach those people na medyo kilala niyo na nga ara na sa scene and talk to them sa gigs and stuff. xempre talk to them for advice sa tukar and stuff para ma feel man nila ang respeto and all else will follow.

siguro mas dasig mag unite tanan kung mag pa EB nalng ang eksenailoilo mo kay du mga naga tukar subong forumers man diri. like an EB + gig b na planado.... just a suggestion lang ah...

for now, I know a lot of us are trying to push the music scene forward...
some may not be a part of bands anymore but there is already a significant group of people hopeful and in a way exerting effort nga mag progress ang scene

but in the end the bands themselves are the ones to decide whether we will remain stagnant or progress.. or worst, regress... anhun na ya sang mga productions nga ga tinguha man kung ang bands mismo wala ya gana kag inde man gid gale seryoso

wala man gid na sa pa damo2 albums or original compos but in a sense sa level of how progressive the bands themselves are in playing and their sense of professionalism, even if this to some may not be considered as a profession

until now, you can always tell which bands and musicians sa scene ang really serious about their music whether original songs na or covers.. ma bal-an mo man gyapon those nga true ya sa ila music than those who are just there for chicks, pogi points and sikat factor

am sure you guys can appreciate even some of the younger bands subong nga biskan inde pa gid man solid ang tukar but makita mo ng dedicated sila kag in a sense seryoso sila sa tukar nila..

in a sense, these so called "musicians" are the ones to determine whether our music scene will move forward or not..

para ma mobilize ang mga sugestions and dreams...

para sa iloilo music scene.. concern man ta tanan...

pro my isa gid gru nga mag lead para all the resr will follow..

para indi man ma kad2 sa wla mga ideas 2 improve iloilo music scene...

aw.. "eksena session 2" na!!.. hehehe

there will be an eksena session this december....

but it will be a different one from the first....

i don't think there is anyone naman who has been in the scene and has that much experience than the spook so i agree with robot...

im just a small fish compared sa iban da.....


but if you ask me, we should not leave the decision to just one person... If we want the scene to move forward, it has to be a collective effort... And we should all practice respect and tolerance to those who do not share our views on things... because at the end of the day, either we like it or not, they are also part of our circle...

+1 sa words ni the spook.... i think we should all be together in this. whether bag.o sa scene or dugay na, kinanlan ta ang inputs sang tanan para ma figure out ta kung panu ta ma improve ang scene....

huo indi man sa isa lang ka tawu ang descision. mas may weight lang cguro ang descision sang leaders compared sa iban. tapos nami lang kung may leader kay may arbiter para sa tanan hehe.. nga may nalook up ang mga youngsters kag may narespeto. mga linghod parehas samon need someone nga would act as a guide or as an adult around us. by adult. wala ko namean nga sa edad lang based ha hehe or even sa experience pa gane but cguro its paanu ka maghandle sang certain situations that make you the bigger man.

biskan damu pa kita. kag biskan may common goals kita. kung wala man sang tawu nga macoordinate saton. budlay gyapon. kay di man daan parehas aton nga mga ideas kung panu naton mareach ang aton common goal.

pru ok lang na. may galead na man diri by example ah. off to a good start na ta hehe

bululigan ta ni tanan and im sure may malabutan gid ini nga maayo...

for our part ( ako kg ky Mr. Wilson ) maka bulig kmi hatag inputs kun ano ang plastada sang tiempo namun. May ara pa gid kami nga mga kilala nga mas senior sa amon nga maka bulig man. But para sa akon, "kamo", the younger generation ang may mas dako nga influence. Kun mag wakal kami about the state sang scene ta subong sa mga bag-uhanon, ma tulok man lang na sila kag mag hambal "sin-o ni siya ya?".... That is totally understandable...


So like what i said, bulig ta tanan kun ano ang ma bulig naton. Not for "our" personal gain but para sa local scene. Because in the end, affected man ta gihapon biskan ano pa nga direction ang ma lab-utan sang aton nga eksena.

we just need a coordinator ah... every group needs one... one who will compile all the ideas bla...

kag mas maayo kn tanan involved sa decision making... para wla basulay...

tanan nag amot, ti kun ano man tup-an ta, tanan may gin bulig kn nga-a nag amo na...

i don't go to gigs that frequent, kis a sa kis a lng ku gkdto haha..
but in my opinion, same old same lng. same people, same crowd, ang gkldto kada mg gigs.
kulang sa "spread the word" kada may gigs.
i believe there's something missing kada may gig, i dont know what that is, but i think you could attract more crowd nga ina bala makahambal ang tawo "uy, kadto ta tu, du nami ni aw, ge na bla". something that would make the people eager nga mgkadto. some ginalntaw nlng ang gig as a typical event.
there ain't wrong in playing cover songs, but once in awhile compose & play your own. pakita kun anu me ara ka, kun anu me ara banda mo, sulat nyu panu kmu manumdum, write down what you wanna voice out, write it down may potential man kamu mg ubra own music. if you dont have the talent to be a composer and/or lyricist, meju budlay gd man sa umpisa, but eventually, mahasa^ man kamu sa pgsulat, musicians kmu! you can do better than playing cover songs.
i believe each musician may potential makaubra own songs.
