How is the Iloilo music scene?

@maladroid bord, have you tried sa club bora nga lugar dati? sa dalum lng na bla... daw close to pag kad2 ko last week sa smallville. or ang gin halinan bi sang flow... wala lng ko galing idea sng mga presyo ni sng renta nila.

i saw this one place sang papuli na ko... na lipat ko galing... maagyan ko na liwat... i post ko lng kn sa diin...

the former Flow would be an art gallery/resto kuno.. well that's what Oscar Nava told me.. kay daw sila nag kwa..

@ vansen i don't any art galleries here... museo iloilo maybe... hehehe... but i know of a place in quezon street... Think Study Cafe, its not really a gallery, but you can do your art sessions there... tehee.. they rent rooms for groups to use or you can sit down in the communal area... and oh, entrance fee is 35 pesosesoses for the 1st hour with super unlimited kape or iced teh... the area is very peaceful too..

well yesh.. there's Museo Iloilo and ang UPV Art Gallery... ang Days Hotel lobby gina himu man namun gallery kag may ara private gallery sa Lapaz.. The Space Between.. sa may Laguda subdivision dampi. lapit sa WIT extension campus likod St. Clements.. well sang buhi pa Robinsons nga mga small galleries of w/c did2 ako actually ga tambay gid adlaw2 before..

hahaha.. actually sa Crammers Cafe kami.. we have our lomowall did2 for LomoIloilo.. I actually had some of my friends put some of their works did2..
did2 naman gani ga meeting ang Rock Ed Iloilo..

but if your place is ok.. I'll try to get some of my friends to have an exhibit sa cafe sang sis mo also.. I am still looking for alternative places nga pwede namun himuon for exhibits.. gamay sang space sa Crammers for serious exhibitions..

nami tani may live house ta di.. like the ones in Tokyo bala.. kung sino naga watch sang Beck nga anime am sure you know what I mean..

like a place fully intended for bands gid ya.. on weekdays bands can go there to audition sa morning... sa gabi it can be a venue for gigs.. if pasar band mo sa audition hatagan ka schedule nga mu ni nga day.. dayun ticket sales would go ot the band .. the bar wud just be for the sales sa drinks and the food..

then wala lng fixed nga genre.. but gina schedule lng sa week.. like monday amu ini nga genre and amo ini nga bands.. .. then if may major production.. that would be sa weekends..

i dunno if feasible na sya diri.. or if we did tried that set-up before diri sa Iloilo.. and the best part of this would be that this live house encourages original works..

if we do have such a venue.. do you think the scene would move forward?

but about if feasible ang everyday different? sa Iloilo cguro budlay. kay most nga tawu on weekdays mga yuppies nga mga mypmp ang type hahaha.. mostly weekends man lang gawa. mga students mostly ang crowd sa gigs. unlike sa manila nga pwede cla kpa gig everyday

if u know cuerdas, al's, freedom, mayrics, dayo and atchies sa manila pucha super hulungdon kadtuan and tukaran pero as long as may parokyano ka sa amo na nga venture makadto gid na ya mga tawo...

regarding bayad sa rent sa bar and equipment we we're just lucky na we hooked up with nong ricardo before para we could start a very affordable gig para sa tanan... as for now... we can't blame this bars nga naga pabayad kay amo gid man na ang business nila... there are indie gigs kis-a sa manila which are held lang sa balay or garage sg isa ka gabanda may entrance lang nga 30-50 bucks then the bands will bring their own stuff lang... du new jersey basement gigs ah...basi pwede na ma-try sa iloilo... "if there's a will there's a way..."

one of the reason man na guro ult1mo nga daw gamay lng ang place for gigs dre sa iloilo nga barato, kay ang mga lugar nga accessible sa tawo, dako man ang renta, if ever may ara lugar nga barato, hulungdon gid... i know of a place sa UI, sa gina tambayan namon, dako ang space kag ok gid ang place, galing amo lng na, sa UI pa lapit. kag lapit sa ortiz... so medyo seedy ang lugar kag trouble-magnet... hehe...

@vansen the best gid na kn may amo na dri nga lugar... i;m sure nga kun may amo na di, it could really help para mag angat liwat ang music scene ta di... kag kun sa cafe sng magulang ko, ok gid. may sister is involved with the theater arts for almost 8 years now (she has been an actress, production staff in several major plays in iloilo), the same with her negosyo-mates... they are theater people man... you can surely place some of your works their, ang mga artworks to subong sa ila nga cafe kay ubra man sng mga studyante sa san-ag...

so in the mere fu2re and music scene sa iloilo is maybe isa sa mga main attraction sri mismo sa iloilo...

well damu ta sang ma ubra para ma uplift ang scene.. its just that somebody has to be bold enough to push it forward kag basically willing to invest money and time on it..

huo aight man tni bskn indi sa smallville. gleng ang mga gigs weekends mlng daan diri sa iloilo mostly ginahold kay ang mga crowd students laban daan. so kung school days mas mayu may iban ka nga racket pra macover daily expenses mo. amu na ang dw budlay to sang una sa numtah cguro kay layu sa sa mga schools. hulungdon mo pa daan. unlike be sa 012 (st. pauls) or sa Mcs (san ag). bskn wala gig may income tni. bsi pwede man dyun may lugar tni sa lilo nga everyweekend lang irent haha.. like sa mma club sang mga migo ko sa Team Tumbatsu . friday lang sila gaoccupy sang lugar sa olympus. daw barato lang kwa nila eh hehe.. tapos damu mn kmi tni bla kilala kg mga migo nga sa smallville area mlang gatambay. so instead sa mga lugar like bourbon cla mtambay. sa lugar nalang nga may "loud thingies" hahaha.. kag indi man sa tni daan solely for bands lang. but accomodating sa tnan nga kultura. so bskn indi man gid mga scenesters or daw wla man sa planu to go sa amu na tni klac nga lugar, makahapit man gyapon.

@u1timo. huo katalaka mn gid nda kisa music sa bourbon. probably why wala nako to gakagto for a couple of weeks na. or bsi probably kay nahuya lang gid ko ky pinmuck-youhan ko tanan to nga tawu sang nawasak ko a couple of weeks ago haha (sorry gid).

yup Spook... and i am very willing to help out on this... since i am working with JL pillbox here, may tiempo nga kun mag istorya xa about sng scene sng una... it was like heaven para sa mga banda... then hearing it from other bands sng una nga ara pa sbng, indi na daw amo na ka ok.

mas maayo gid nga ma batian ta ang tanan nga side. interview lng just one rep from different bands from different generations would do na guro...
