ABOUT WATCHMEN:

Based on the 1986-1987 comic book limited series Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the WATCHMEN film adaptation stars Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Malin Åkerman, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Matthew Goode, Stephen McHattie, Matt Frewer, and Carla Gugino. Set in (an alternate universe) 1985, Watchmen follows a group of former vigilantes as tensions heighten between the United States and the Soviet Union while an investigation of an apparent conspiracy against them uncovers something even more grandiose and sinister.

The Watchmen Graphic Novel is a groundbreaking piece of literature. Watchmen was the only graphic novel to appear on Time's 2005 list of "the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to the present"In 2008, Entertainment Weekly placed it at number 13 on its list of the best 50 novels printed in the last 25 years, describing it as "The greatest superhero story ever told and proof that comics are capable of smart, emotionally resonant narratives worthy of the label literature."

Moore used the story as a means to reflect contemporary anxieties and to deconstruct the superhero concept. Watchmen takes place in an alternate history United States where superheroes emerged in the 1940s and 1960s, helping the United States to win the Vietnam War. The country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, freelance costumed vigilantes have been outlawed and most costumed superheroes are in retirement or working for the government. The story focuses on the personal development and struggles of the protagonists as an investigation into the murder of a government sponsored superhero pulls them out of retirement and eventually leads them to confront a plot by one of their own to stave off nuclear war by killing millions of innocent people.

hmmm. kagina ko lang nalantaw ang watchmen. it was very confusing para sa akon ang storyline cos it started on an event nga war time. and ang political issue is mainly focus sa destruction sang soviet union nga abi nila may nuclear launching nga matabo.(may ara nga scene nga may representative ang soviet nga nag hambal nga hindi nila gusto ang war).

then dugay dugay there is group of people with their costumes and photo shoot lang. and I think they were the watchmen. after that nag sulputan naman day john(si blue boy) kag ang grupo nya. it came to my mind nga bagong generation naman ka watchmen? next may mga unsolved mysteries parti sa pagpatay kay comedian(I'm not sure w/ the name) and sa pyramid corporation blah2x
cos I'm not the type sang viewer nga makapamati gid kay easliy destructed gid ako sa mga ga ipinganay nga mga couples sa lover seat. nasal-an ko pa una nga ex ko ang sa kilid ko upod ang bago nya nga migo. so bilog nga film sila ang napanumdum ko. pagkatapos hindi man lang gali. badtrip yun.

but sa action kag quality sang movie pictures, am a fan! praise you.

amo na guro nga hambal nila nga budlay himuon movie ang Watchmen, kay unlike sa X-Men, Watchmen is deep... its not your usual superhero movie. i dunno, maybe someone could shed light into this...

Read the comics when the rumor sufaced nga may movie ni. I heard they changed the ending or how the ending was executed. Hope they didn't. I'm watching this movie on Monday.

tani wala lng... kay wala ko na basa ang comics nga ni... so kn gin change nila, it sucks... indi ko gusto nga ang nabal-an ko about sa Watchmen is based sa movie, nga basi sala lng bala... hehe

@ ninja- haha daw hindi man sa muna ah. kay daw may sound effects pa ila ya get together sa lover seat. naghalin ko pulungku-an (maski mag halin ko ga ka dumduman ko sila kun may kissing scene.haha) pero medyo na slightly understand ko ang general story.

@ indus- chakto gid papz hindi ni sila ang common nga superheroes natun nga gina lantaw. more like sya sa mga kabalastugan sang tawo. kun anu ka higko ang kalibutan. idol ko gane si comedian.haha. Adolf Hitler ang banat ya.peace out.
