i duno kun nakahambal nako bout this.. poh i have to say..depende na sa perception sang tawo..

some perceive it as a lifestyle or even as fashion..with all those black black black eyeliners, black nail polish, black n white striped socks plus those skinny sometimes ripped tight jeans and that signature "oh great, the whole world's against me and i'm stuck in this miserable rut again" kind of mindset..and at times may lead to some wrist-slashing, self-mutilation, and/or self-degradation due to apparent lack of self-esteem that somehow resulted from apparent lack of support system from family and friends. this lack of self-esteem issue may somehow be traced down from dissatisfied home life and/or peer pressure wherein the strong manipulates the weak and the weak has nothing else but to conform in order to gain recognition, honor, acceptance, and/or as simple as what they call love. but all in all, there would always be this empty void that only if the youth today could just realize that only they themselves can fill that void. all of these are just phases and part of the so-called teenage angst. and that too, shall pass..

some say sa music na..but some may raise their eyebrows (or even raise that effin middle finger) upon hearing such comment. but arent all songs emotional by nature? that's what most critics would ask. yes, most songs (and even poems) are written through one's emotions by default. but what most music geeks try to state is that, the EMO genre or so they say, EMOTIONAL HARDCORE genre has so long been dead. most of the songs are co-related with this so-called EMO genre these days are just mere adaptations or can we say that it is the new EMO? or is this new EMO is just a fad, a phase just like when we were back in high school wherein ALTERNATIVE is all the rage and the 80's are referred to as yesterday's fad generation because they are so bagets and all those stuff. but isnt each decade or say generation has its own signature sound/ music genre? and in this decade or say generation, it just so happens that EMO has been given the spotlight on?

all in all, this whole EMO issue just puts us to one certain question: does lifestyle (along with fashion) and music are merely interwined? interwined wherein the other goes on only with the other. they are, arent they?
