who do you prefer out of this two bands who has played a big role in uplifting the punk scene in the U.S. and in the U.K.

what do you think is the edge of the other band from the other one.
what is your own opinion about their music? etc...

i think that it shows in how the ramones sound what a typical American punk band is... it's more melodic and has topics which are not too serious but not too poppish during that period...

meanwhile, the clash is more serious and political and the way they play music is more technical than the ramones... they even ventured into the reggae territory before...

overall... i say The Clash gets my vote even though i enjoy listening to the ramones also... The Clash has the more serious side of punk at the time...

When it comes to american and british acts, im really biased... Its The Clash for me..........


But if The Sex Pistols were in the mix, id vote for them in a heartbeat!

The Clash akon. biskan pa between cla sa pistols or ramones. biskan pa bata si Joe Strummer sang ambassador (weird kay gakanta sa about lowlives nga sa boarding school sa nagskwela). biskan pa pub rock tukar nila before nag uso ang punk. biskan pa idol sa ni John Cusack. biskan pa natakan ko sang rock the casbah. biskan pa ginsample sang cypress hill ang bassline sang guns of brixton. Naadmire ko sa The Clash kay nagdisband sila when they were at their peak, kag wala gid sila nagreunion sang mal-am na cla. Unlike other (really) old-school punk bands..

Kung nanamian kmu the clash check nu ang the good the band and the queen. kay si Paul Simonon nda gabass upod si dangermouse kag si damon albarn. tapos for better or worst si Mick Jones nagpasikat ky pete doherty (nobyo ni kate moss hehe)..

kag kon trip nu ramones. pangitaa nu ang The Dictators. specially the song. Pussy and Money. ma-apply nu gid na sa pangabuhi nu hahaha.. una pa na ang the dictators compared sa ramones..

@ the spook: ther's just this something siguro sa british bands that when you listen to them puno gid ya sang substance and class ang music nila except of course for eurotrash pop music hehehe...

yeah, the clash got my respect when i saw their dvd which unluckily got stolen from me. when they clicked sa UK they took advantage of the label that handled them and went to jamaica to learn more about the culture didto daw kay they believe ang punk and reggae culture almost the same lang so they want to incorporate the 2 genres...

hah.. I choose both .. una lang gamay ang ramones sa clash.. and anyway.. ang roots gid man sang punk sa us.. not uk.. nag sikat gid lang sa uk 'coz mas damo mayo nga punk bands sa uk .... they're sprouting like mushrooms sang una sang 70's..heheheh.
